Lights on doors when you open them not goes on

Hi, greetings, I am new in this forum, so forgive me if I ask something that is already answered

in the front doors, there are 2 red reflectors (to me looks like lights) those are suppose to get on when you open the doors?

I Believe On The Higher End Ones, They Are There As Warning Lights When You Open The Door So Traffic Behind You Can See The Door Is Open. They Should Go Out When The Door Is Closed. Someone Correct Me If I Am Wrong My Model Does Not Have Them.
