Finally, the official recall paperwork was filed with NHTSA.

1. The issue is sharp bolts that can interfere with and damage the side-curtain airbags during deployment.
2. If your car was built after August 12, 2019, you are not affected.
3. Hyundai plans to notify owners in January. Your dealer may be able to get you in sooner
4. Hyundai's recall VIN checker still doesn't recognize my VIN as being affected, but I know it is. It takes time I guess.

The site did bring my Vin # up and I called a dealer and he also found it to be true. I was suppose to have it done yesterday but had to cancel Wed. do to a problem I had come up. Will have to call and set it back up. The service rep. told me it would take about an hoiur or so to fix .. have to remove the headliner

My VIN still makes the website report that everything is fine and there's no recall. It's OK though - they're not planning on notifying owners until January. If by then the website is still screwed-up then I'll be more concerned. Meanwhile, the dealership might catch it before then anyway.

It’s documented in the recall document I linked to. They’re putting a cover over the bolts
Did they have to do anything with headliner pull it back etc. The dealer I called said they had to remove the headliner to get to the screw and that concerned me. That sounded major to me.
