I just placed my order for the new map version 14 update.
Today was the first day I have seen the order screen.
That price is nothing for the map and software update.
we are getting

It should have been free with the Blue Link subscription though. But $25 isn't bad.

I called mapnsoft this morning to get a cancel my order, now that a download will be made available. I took the opportunity to ask some questions about the update and I have some interesting news to share:

- Map updates will now be free for vehicles from model year 2018 and up for 10 years. It will no longer be tied to the Blue Link subscription. After 10 years, they'll stop publishing map updates for the vehicle.
- If you choose to get a USB drive shipped to you instead of using the free download option, it will be $25 plus shipping.
- For pre-2018 vehicles, there will be no download available, but the price to get the USB will be $25 plus shipping. It will no longer be $145. That makes updates for my 2012 Sonata a lot more palatable now.
- The reason for the delay in releasing this map update is COVID-19, as expected.
- The reason for the back and forth about a download being available is that they've developed a new downloader for this update (hence the new 2018 and newer vehicles only restriction), and COVID-19 has restricted their ability to collaborate and get it done in time.
- I didn't ask about that new Hyundai website and how it relates to mapnsoft. If I had to guess, that's what we'll use on May 15 when the download for this update comes out. We'll see.

Oh and they refunded me no questions asked, because the order hadn't shipped yet. I don't blame them at all for being affected by COVID-19. Just poor coordination of going live with the order page, and only mentioning the download option the next day. Anyway, problem solved.

I noticed the reference to a map update 14.5 download has disappeared from the update site.
Guess that is understandable as the 14 doesn't work for download yet.
Wouldn't be surprised if they wait for 14.5 before it is up for download

That's good for palisade owners.
I did mine on the usb when it first came out
April 27
Did you notice the 14.5 info had disappeared?
There is a number of software updates in 14
so think 14.5 would only be maps anyway.

Yeah I think they're struggling to get this one out. Wouldn't be surprised if 14.5 is delayed.

But I think they’ll continue to provide feature updates and not just maps. I’d like to see what they do with the WiFi modem since there’s apparently one in the head unit (not necessarily in 14.5, but when they decide to use it).

Just went on the new map download site and it allows me to enter my Palisade information. However, it says the new map is NAM.13.41.41.xxx. I see everyone talking about version 14.5. Am I getting the right version? I can not find any other information on the upgrade.

Does anyone here know if the map will continue to work in the absence of a bluelink subscription? Now that the map inputs are being processed at Server side than at the device end.
Could be deal breaker for me as $300 is not something i look forward to paying after 3 years..

It will continue to work, but it will calculate the routing based on the navigation database, as opposed to server-side. You still do get traffic data via HD radio, which the system can use to route you effectively.

Also, in 3 years, you don't need all 3 Blue Link packages for this feature. You only need the base one (Connected Care) and Guidance. You don't need the Remote package. You can pay monthly, yearly, for 2 years, or for 3 years. The more you prepay, the cheaper it gets. Right now, it's $99 for a year for each package. So $200 would get you the 2 packages you need for a full year.
